"Adding the personnel is important to smooth and maximize the services," said Commission A Vice, Inggard Joshua, during a visit to Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Office, Jalan K.H. Zainul Arifin, Duri Pulo Urban Village, Gambir, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (6/5).

During the meeting, Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Head, Satriadi Gunawan, explained the number of employees on his agency are 4,263. Those are 1,745 PJLPs, 1,874 Civil Servants (ASN), 383 staffs, and 261 non operational PJLPs.

"Ideally, based on Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Administrative Reform recommendation should be 11,200. But we try our best to give maximum service for the residents," he explained.

Satriadi added that due to the shortage of personnel, the staff has made various adjustments to operational standards so that services remain optimal. Among them, the ideal number of personnel carrying out fire engine operations of six people was reduced to three to four personnel.

According to him, not all 267 urban villages in Jakarta have fire post. The existing fire posts are still 170 units at six city and regency areas in Jakarta.

"The existence of this post is closely related to the speed of the detention response. If everything is fulfilled, it will definitely increase the service response time," he stated.
